**We are pleased to announce the Billy Bauer Band will play Penn State's THON this coming February 2010. Penn State University's THON Dance Marathon, held at the Bryce Jordan Center (University Park, PA), is the worlds largest run student philanthropy with over 15,000 Penn State Volunteers.
A Bethlehem, Pennsylvania based acoustic rock group, the Billy Bauer Band lures music fans of all ages with their crisp sound and engaging melodies. Within just 6 months of their first show in 2006, the band landed a spot in one of the most prestigious independent music festivals in the world- the “CMJ Music Marathon” (New York, NY). By the end of 2006, the Billy Bauer Band represented the Philadelphia region in the Original Sessions National Band Search in New York City and they took first place. As a result, their single “55” can still be heard in all Sam Ash music stores nationally.
By 2009, the band made their regional television debut live on Philadelphia's NBC 10! Show, and was invited to play some of the largest festivals in the nation including: Musikfest (Bethlehem, PA), Dewey Beach Pop & Americana Festivals (Dewey Beach, Delaware), 2006 FMFB Festival (New York City), and the Black Potato Festival (Clinton, NJ). The band has also played some of the most prestigious rock venues in the world, including “The Bitter End” (New York, NY), played for crowds over 15,000 (Coca Cola Park, PA, Bryce Jordan Center, Sovereign Bank Arena), and they have shared the stage with amazing musicians such as Pete Francis (of Dispatch- who played their farewell show to over 100,000 people in Boston).
Listeners of the Billy Bauer Band are often reminded of the Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Paul Simon, and REM in a blender. ”Billy has got a Paul Simon- meets- John-Mayer -college style of singing which is easy on the ears and pleasant to listen to.” (Pulse Weekly, March 2007). CD & I-tune sales between their two studio released albums, “The Best of Both Worlds” (2005) and “Another Day Is Coming” (2006) have topped over 4,000 units since 2006. Bauer tours virtually non-stop with stops throughout the East Coast. Their imaginative song writing and unique instrumentation make their live performances a must see.
